POLLOCK PINES — November 2, 2026. El Dorado Irrigation District maintains boat-launching restrictions at Jenkinson Lake in Pollock Pines to reduce the risk of invasive golden mussels entering the drinking-water reservoir.
How the 2026 rule works
A boat may qualify through an intact EID tag after a completed thirty-day quarantine, a qualifying verified outside seal meeting strict conditions, or an accepted decontamination process. The district currently names the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency as its recognized decontamination provider.
Kayaks and paddleboards differ
Nonmotorized hand-launched craft can be exempt when staff determine they are clean, drained and dry. A nonmotorized boat on a trailer may still face trailer inspection or restrictions.
Winter launching hours
EID’s posted October–April timetable says boats must leave the water by 5 p.m. and exit tagging runs until 5:30 p.m. Check current rules at EID.org/Boating before towing equipment to the lake.
